Design is limited by trusses and beams for support that interfere with usable workspace and large openings. Wood has a clearspan max of 80 ft. wide with 8 ft. column spacing.

FLEXIBLE DESIGN ENGINEERING

Flexible design options surpass wood building limitations. Build up to 200 ft. wide clearspan space without interference from trusses or beams. Design large openings like garage or hangar doors with ease.

HIGH CONSTRUCTION WASTE

Wood buildings produce 20% more onsite construction waste increasing overall construction costs. Wood compounds emit harmful Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) for occupants.

BASED ON 90% RECYCLED MATERIAL

All Allied Steel Buildings are made from 90% recycled steel. Pre-engineered means less onsite construction waste. In addition, steel promotes a good Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) for occupants.

HIGHER COSTS

Engineering required onsite for sheath, wiring, cutting lumber to size, & drilling holes. Frames and components are cumbersome. Construction and building insurance is much more expensive.

Prefabricated buildings with holes already drilled at the factory. Allied’s metal buildings require no skillset to construct. Pre-engineered steel frames provide more support.Anyone can build!

LIMITED PROTECTION

Wood buildings are sheeted with 29 gauge tin. Wood can shrink, split, or warp. It is susceptible to damage from termites and water, and doesn’t stand up as well to harsh conditions like snow, rain, flooding, hurricane force winds, or seismic activity.

SUPERIOR PROTECTION

Designed to withstand up to 180 mph winds, Allied Steel Buildings are sheeted with durable and resilient 24 gauge steel. Also built for heavy snow & seismic loads. Steel is strong enough for skyscrapers. Pound for pound, steel is much stronger than wood.

HIGH MAINTENANCE

Continuous maintenance. Wood buildings are susceptible to rotting, sagging, and termites. Over the years wood buildings need to be painted numerous times. Wood can also warp and require costly renovations.

MAINTENANCE FREE

No painting, coating, or treating the steel. A protective primer is applied after the holes are drilled in our factories to protect against the elements. All our buildings are made of red iron or galvanized steel components!
