Assurances You Can Count On

Launching their mission to provide a steady and stable supply of high quality IV fluids within the United States, Assure IV sought a visionary steel builder who could help them bring their project to life. Following Hurricane Maria in 2017, plus pandemic-related global supply-chain challenges in 2020, the ambitious medical manufacturer recognized the urgent need for more domestic IV fluid production. With the goal of transforming the industry by manufacturing 20-30 million sterile IV bags annually, Assure IV needed a state-of-the art automated facility featuring first-of-its-kind onsite sterilization. From an initial meeting with Allied Steel Buildings in March 2022, Assure IV was assured their building could be delivered by November of the same year, allowing, with construction, sufficient time for it to be operational by early 2023.

Experts in Production Line Design

Allied, Assure IV, and local architect firm “The Lunz Group” collaborated on the building’s design, which centers around a 200-foot production line, critical for running the fully automated facility 24 hours per day, seven days a week. To provide the flexibility needed to land essential manufacturing equipment, the design features a 50×50 interior column grid, giving the 60,000-square-foot building an open and accommodating footprint. The large facility features a standing seam roof, insulated metal panels, and pop-outs on the front façade that provide visual depth and character. With design and engineering complete, the building was in production by July and delivered, as promised, by November.

Mastering Tight Timelines

Though no unexpected obstacles or challenges presented during the course of the project, it was clear from the onset that timing would be tight. Thanks to skilled coordination and Allied’s longtime relationships with trusted supply partners, we skillfully navigated all timing restraints and delivered on every expectation. Assure IV had never previously worked with Allied, but our responsiveness and reputation assured them of our ability to deliver their building on time when timing was of utmost importance.
