Guyana Steel Building. A Collaborative Project with a local Guyana Partner
Over the last eight years Allied Steel Buildings and a local partner have joined together on countless projects, growing and evolving together with each success. Our partner, a turn-key real developer based in Guyana, has played an integral role in bringing Allied’s projects to life by providing installation, erection, and development expertise, while Allied supplies cutting-edge pre-engineered steel buildings that they know they can count on.
When our partner secured a contract from a Trinidad-based food distributor to construct a distribution center and training facility in Guyana, they instinctively turned to Allied. With our long track record of meeting high engineering and design standards, Allied was entrusted with the tasks of designing, engineering, and fabricating the new steel building. The project kicked off in September 2022, with Allied navigating an aggressive timeline to bring the food distributor’s precise vision to life.
The Power of Partnerships
Teaming up with our trusted design partner, we embarked on a collaborative journey, beginning with a meticulous three-month design phase. Despite an already tight timeline, Allied demonstrated agility in adapting to design changes, including concept alterations and significant façade cladding modifications.
With meticulous planning and a vast network of partners, Allied not only navigated these challenges but accelerated the project timeline, showcasing the prowess of in-house steel building fabrication and a resilient support system.
Guyana Steel Building – On Site Until Completion
Come February 2023, the project was in full swing and delivery was underway. The final design was worth its many evolutions and featured adjacent structures, mezzanines, complex stair landings, skylights, and unique combination wall panels that consisted of both masonry and steel panels. All of the project’s primary steel, secondary steel, and PBR roof & wall panels were proudly sourced from Allied’s manufacturing facility in La Coruna, Spain which allowed Allied to prioritize and expedite production to meet the project’s strict timing requirements.
Allied’s on-site presence throughout installation ensured a smooth installation and prevented potential delays despite the building’s various complexities. Once complete in July 2023, the project received the highest praise from the client for Allied’s unmatched accountability and the quality of our work.
