Quality Control Inspector

Job Description 

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our steel fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our steel fabrication processes and products meet the necessary quality standards.

Responsibilities 

Inspection:

• Inspect finished products, including structural steel components, to ensure that they meet the necessary quality standards.
• Use measuring tools, such as micrometers and tape measures, to ensure that products meet specifications.
• Use non-destructive testing techniques, such as ultrasonic testing, to identify any defects in the products.

Documentation:

• Document inspection results and communicate any quality issues to management.
• Maintain records of inspection results, including photographs, measurements, and other data.

Quality Control:

• Monitor the steel fabrication process to ensure that it meets the necessary quality standards.
• Ensure that all equipment used in the fabrication process is in good working order and maintained according to schedule.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to identify opportunities for quality improvement.

Safety:

• Follow all safety protocols and ensure that work area is safe for themselves and their colleagues.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical degrees in welding or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in a steel fabrication environment.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge: Understanding of various AISC steel fabrication processes, including cutting, drilling, and welding.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and ability to ensure accuracy in all work activities.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve quality goals.
• Certification: Professional certifications, such as those offered by the American Welding Society (AWS) or the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), are a plus.
