Keeping Families Close
The Ronald McDonald House is a global organization that provides thousands of children and their families with a home while undergoing treatment for their serious illness. With the support of private donors, they are not affiliated with McDonalds™ restaurant chain, families stay for free for as long as they need.
Allied assisted the Ronald McDonald house of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in preparing for their annual silent auction and holiday dinner party. Over 30 volunteers from Allied assisted in setting up for the party in half a day, a task which normally took them twice as long with the same amount of people. We helped set up tables, chairs, holiday decorations and even barricaded the street. Allied Cares volunteers did such a great job, they asked us to volunteer for their next big event!

After we finished setting up, the Ronald McDonald House team gave us a tour of the facility which has over 21 rooms to accommodate families. Additionally, we were introduced to some of the residents. It was quite humbling to learn one had been living there for over two years while their son is in treatment for leukemia. At the end of a productive day, everyone from Allied Cares felt great about the work they had done and how fortunate they were to be able to make the families from the Ronald McDonald house have a wonderful holiday celebration.
