Expanding Capabilities in a New Market

-Dual Commercial Warehouses in San Miguel de Petapa, Guatemala

After years of anticipation, Allied Steel Buildings proudly partnered with a renowned real estate developer in Guatemala, for our first project together: two large warehouses at the Multinova Business Park. Known for their expertise in residential developments, the developer enlisted Allied for help expanding into the commercial sector, with a specific focus on storage and logistics facilities. They chose Allied and our pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) solutions for speed and cost-efficiency, marking their first foray into steel building construction.

Providing Solutions for a Fast-Evolving Project

The design phase began in the second quarter of 2024, with Allied leading the entire process. While the design proceeded smoothly, Allied pivoted as needed to accommodate new requests for the building’s design. Changes included the addition of canopies and the removal of doors on one structure, which Allied swiftly accommodated without delaying the fabrication schedule. Above all, we ensured that the project remained on track and poised for success.

Navigating Shifting Priorities with Precision

Initially, the project prioritized MT2/MT3 for completion, but midway through the design phase, our client secured a tenant for MT1, requiring a shift in focus. As a built-to-suit project, MT1 needed to incorporate custom requests from the future tenant, including a 100-square-meter addition. While Allied was already far along with the fabrication of MT2/MT3, we adapted quickly, ensuring its completion while expediting every available resource to deliver MT1 on time. Though the re-sequencing was a challenge, Allied met the client’s move-in date, demonstrating our commitment to flexibility and precision.

Both buildings feature primary steel fabricated by Allied, insulated metal panels (IMP) for the walls, and a standing seam roof with insulation, all rolled on-site to meet the client’s specific needs. Architectural details like canopies and corner bump-outs were added to ensure both aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Continuous Commitment to Client Success

Currently, MT2/MT3 are in the erection phase, and MT1 is in delivery. Allied has engaged a third-party expert installer on-site to ensure the client’s operational deadline is met. This kind of support is not always standard in the industry, but at Allied, we pride ourselves on doing whatever it takes to ensure our clients’ satisfaction, especially when facing tight deadlines.
